Great Australian Bites Winton
Winton Memorial Pool and Waltzing Matilda Centre
Sunday 26 January 2025
6am - 12pm
On Australia Day 2025, Winton was the place to be for Great Australian Bites.
Visitors started the day with a barbeque in Barry Wilson Memorial Park and cheered on their favourite athlete in the triathlon. They then headed to the Waltzing Matilda Centre for the Australia Day Awards with Australia Day Ambassador Wayne Sticher and explored the variety of stalls on offer.
Throughout the day, people enjoyed tasty offerings including cakes, biscuits and slices from Winton Dates, sausage sizzle and snow cones from Winton Rugby League, and delectable pulled-pork sliders, lamb kebabs and piping-hot calamari from Tuckerbox.
Those who were looking to be entertained enjoyed a hilarious comedy show from The Crackup Sisters, listened to live music from local singer Jess White, and then watched as Jayde's Outback Thermie presented an exciting Thermomix demonstration making scones.
Visitors could also escape the summer sizzle at a pool party at the Winton Memorial Pool with games and food available for all to enjoy. Kids enjoyed classic favourites including egg and spoon races, tug of war and light-hearted swimming competitions.
