Celebrate Australia Day at Great Australian Bites Brisbane.
Join us at South Bank Parklands as Riverside Green comes alive with an afternoon of delicious food, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun.
Hosted by Alistair McLeod, the vibrant main stage program will spotlight some of Queensland's most loved culinary personalities alongside an exciting line up of live music and performances.
Food lovers will be treated to a series of live cooking demonstrations on the main stage, featuring some of Australia's most respected chefs. Watch as they share their skills, stories, and signature flavours in engaging demonstrations throughout the afternoon. Appearances include Dominique Rizzo, Simone Prest, Justine Schofield, and a quick pop up from Matt Golinski.
The celebration of food continues across the site, with local food vendors and restaurant pop ups showcasing the best of Queensland produce. Enjoy irresistible bites from Doughcraft by Simone Prest, and Calida perfectly paired with refreshing drinks from Iced Tea Co and Nude Juice.
The entertainment keeps rolling all day with a lively music and performance program featuring Tribal Experiences, Jake Newell and Alisha Todd Duo, Birdman Brandy and The Ivory Street Preachers, and Franky Smart. Families will also love appearances from Ranger Stacey and Ranger Ben, bringing extra excitement for younger audiences.
For kids and kids at heart, there is plenty to enjoy with free activities including face painting, arts and crafts, lawn games, a silent disco, and a dedicated quiet zone for those who need a calm space to recharge.

What's the best way to get to Great Australian Bites Brisbane?
Riverside Green is located along the promenade near the South Bank Piazza.
Paid car parking is available through the Queensland Cultural Centre car park (managed by Arts Queensland) via Stanley Place or the South Bank underground car park (managed by South Bank Corporation) via Little Stanley Street. The event will start 2pm and will run until 7.30pm.
Is Great Australian Bites Brisbane free?
Yes, entry to the event is free including the kids activities. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at onsite stalls.
Is Great Australian Bites Brisbane suitable for children?
Yes, this is an all ages event. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
Is Great Australian Bites Brisbane accessible?
Great Australian Bites will have an accessible viewing area, AUSLAN interpreter for stage proceedings, accessible toilets and a sensory space. Some areas of the venue will be on grass.

What am I allowed to bring to the event?
Attendees must comply with the Conditions of Entry which will be displayed at each entrance point to the Great Australian Bites Brisbane. No alcohol, scooters, bikes, glass drinkware and pets (with the exception of assistance animals) may be brought into the event site.
If you are cycling or scooting to the event, the nearest bike racks are located at the Clem Jones Promenade, the Central Cafes, Grey Street (outside the South Bank Cineplex), and on Russell Street (outside the ABC Headquarters building).
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not allowed into the event except for assistance dogs.
Is there seating at Great Australian Bites Brisbane?
There will be some seating available on the lawn, however, you're welcome to bring your own picnic blanket or chair.
Is there food and drinks available?
Yes, food and beverages will be available for purchase at a variety of food and drink vendors at Great Australian Bites Brisbane including Doughcraft, Calida, Nude Juice and Iced Tea Co.
Are there bathrooms at Great Australian Bites Brisbane?
Yes, the closest bathroom facilities are located at the Piazza.

What should I wear?
This is an outdoor event and we recommend you dress appropriately for the weather. If it's a hot day, be sure to wear a hat and sunscreen and bring a drink bottle to fill up at our free water stations. If it's raining, don't forget your umbrella, raincoat or poncho.

What happens if it's raining?
